The many parallels between the Spanish Golden Age theatre and the Elizabethan, Jacobean and Stuart theatre of England are arousing growing interest among specialists in both traditions. This collection of eleven studies in Spanish offers a panorama of a fundamental area of comparative literature. The volume brings together papers presented at two conferences on Spanish and English Drama in the period 1580-1680, in Calgary in 1987, and at the Almagro Festival de Teatro Clasico in 1991. The contributors include: Sara Taddeo, Sharon Dahlgren Voros, Susana Hernandez-Payne, Teresa J. Kirschner, Don W. Cruickshank, Anita K. Stoll and Dawn L. Smith. Anita K. Stoll is a Professor of Spanish at Cleveland State University, Ohio (USA).
