The first is the old school of English deism. The production of this school was owing to, or affected by, two distinct inżuences, neither of which ajp yet extinct. The former of these was, the ration al spirit engendered by the reformation. It is one of the ter rible conditions of all great blessings, that they are liable, if uusanctified, to be transmuted into great curses. This is especially true of all religious blessings, They are a savor of life unto life, or of death unto death.
