Welcome to the world of Alan Brighton, M.D. Alan is a lonely man, trapped in a self-made prison. Mired in a mid-life crisis fueled by rising debt, a law suit, and professional burn-out, his life has reached its nadir, Alan retreats to Bleaker City where things appear even worse. The mother of an old friend has died and Larry, a schizophrenic, must go to a care home in Florida, with no means to get there.
