Diese theoriegeschichtliche Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Verhältnis von weltweitem Handel, globaler Güterverteilung und Gerechtigkeit. Sie beginnt mit einer Darstellung der ökonomischen und politischen Seite weltweiten Freihandels. Anschließend werden wichtige Gerechtigkeitstheorien von Aristoteles bis Rawls dahingehend untersucht, welches Gewicht sie der Tausch- und der Verteilungsgerechtigkeit beimessen.Der letzte Teil behandelt schließlich die Bedeutung staatlicher Souveränität in Theorien globaler Tausch- und Verteilungsgerechtigkeit. Als Ergebnis läßt sich festhalten, daß die politische «Neue Weltfreihandelsordnung» der 1990er Jahre rechtsphilosophisch in Form überwiegend tauschdominanter Gerechtigkeitstheorien ihre Entsprechung findet.
