This book presents a powerful analysis of contemporary social, cultural and political issues in the representation and embodied experience of masculinities and disabilities as imagined and lived. Through eleven empirical chapters, the book makes a substantial contribution to theorising the intersections between disabilities and masculinities. Each chapter positions the subject of masculinity and disability as a site of cultural pedagogy, by affirming different ways of knowing masculinity beyond dominant ideologies that normalise a particular masculine body and relegate disabled masculinities to the position of abnormal 'other'. Through a interdisciplinary examination of the multiple points of intersection in the making of disabled masculinities, this edited collection provides an understanding of masculinities through the lens of disability, and disability through the lens of masculinities. An original and well-researched study, this book will be of particular interest to scholars of disability, gender, cultural studies and pedagogy.
