This thesis suggests that creating awareness on §aspects of contract law is pivotal in present-day §independent music exploitation and the processing of §multilingual multimedia content on a worldwide §level. The main contribution of this thesis relates §to the use of terminological suggestions covered by §the expert term glossary and conclusions deriving §from the analysis of legal language based on §comparing contract texts. Independent artists, music §publishers, labels, and managers, as well as §translators and all those working with multilingual §content are in dire need of workable tools for §tackling day-to-day contract, clearance and §licensing issues. The target groups mentioned above §may also want to consult the part on contracts §reference and the bibliography for looking further §into the topic. This thesis is also meant to §contribute to the decision-making process of how to §protect musical content, what rights should be made §available to third parties and to what degree, and §help answer the question why parties may want to be §cautious when doing business based on differing §legal systems involved.
