Due to this, Web mining Technologies are being upgraded day by day and it can be used to find, extract the information automatically and filter the required relevant information from the variety of web resources and locations. Web mining is the application of data mining techniques to discover patterns from the Web through hyperlink structure. It combines the traditional data mining technology and Web technology together and it can play a significant role in many ways, such as the mining of search engines, the development of search engines, improving and enhancing the quality and efficiency of search engines, determining web pages and files and Web document classification, and Web Log mining and intelligent inquiries.This Text book discussed the importance of web mining and categories of web mining.
