Globalization has increased the interest of orthopedic surgeons in resource-rich environments to get involved with their colleagues in poorer settings. At present very little is written on the topic and none of it is summarized in a single reference. Due to a variety of factors, including deficiencies in the delivery of care at primary level facilities in low- and middle-income countries, many of the musculoskeletal conditions present very late ( neglected conditions ). The treatment principles and techniques for dealing with these late presenting cases have yet to be covered in existing textbooks. As such, this book will be unique and original, and should offer a major contribution.
