Fin du XIXe, Dinard est la première station balnéaire en France, on la surnomme : " La Dinard aux cent hôtels " ou encore : " La Perle de la Côte d'Émeraude ".Work space for fishermen, Dinard will transmute itself in the 19th century into a domain of contemplation: the previously ignored landscape becomes a scene appreciated in the fullness of its components (pointes, creeks, beaches). Dinard, via the arrival of wealthy foreigners, operates a change of perspective. The elite of the time, especially the English, discovered the Emerald Coast, settled there, had it built. The fashion is for hydrotherapy and sea bathing, fashion coupled with the attraction for the shore, the beach becomes a leisure area, tourism is developing. This change was accompanied by the construction of many hotels and seaside resort houses, most of which were built between 1850 and 1930, luxurious villas were located on the seafront. At the end of the 19th century, Dinard was the first seaside resort in France , it is nicknamed: "La Dinard with a hundred hotels" or even: "The Pearl of the Emerald Coast".
