Als Mitte der siebziger Jahre die Befreiungskämpfe der unterdrückten Nationalitäten eskalierten, konnte die Militärregierung nur mit Hilfe der Sowjetunion den Zerfall Äthiopiens verhindern. Dieses Buch liefert einen Beitrag zum Verständnis der nationalen Konflikte im Horn von Afrika und untersucht die Ursachen der Nationalbewegung der Oromo, des grössten äthiopischen Volkes, und des über zwanzigjährigen Befreiungskampfes in Eritrea.
